Dozens of officers from the Aviation Security Command received their promotions on Saturday, in the first promotions granted in eight years.

Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi attended the promotion ceremony as chief guest.

Total 58 officers received their promotions Saturday; from lance corporal rank to corporal, corporal to sergeant, and sergeant to superintendent.

Speaking on behalf of the officers who received their promotions, Corporal Fathimath said recognizing the services of employees motivates them, and advances the institution they serve.

“I take this opportunity to respectfully thank the leaders of the Command,” she said.

Aviation Security Command was established as a designated institution under Defense Ministry in 2013.
