Maldives joins World Freestyle Football Association, Saif named country leader

Maldives has been granted membership at the World Freestyle Football Association (WFFA).

WFFA announced the membership on Thursday, congratulating the island nation. They detailed that Maldives was the 116^th nation to join the association.

They detailed the incorporation of Maldives is a result of the agreement between the WFFA and local athlete and community leader Mohamed Saif Zahir (Superman) – one of the most successful and celebrated local freestylers, also known as the king of freestyle in the.

WFFA states that the deal will boost the development of freestyle football in the Maldives with the constant support and guidance of the association.

Saif, commenting on his new post, said that he is honored by the responsibility of guiding and supporting the development of freestyle football community in the Maldives.

“We have a number of rising talents that will definitely benefit from our affiliation with the WFFA: I can’t wait to start working with them and the Association to grow the sport in the Maldives,” he added.

Saif is a two-time champion of the ‘Redbull Street Style’ held in the Maldives – the most prominent competition in this sport. He has also competed in a number of international competitions.

WFFA is the world governing body for freestyle football. They are the official organizer of a wide range of Freestyle Football championships around the world, including, but not limited to, first-class tournaments such as Red Bull Street Style, the Super Ball and the World Youth Freestyle Football Championship.

The association was incepted in 2017.
