MP Siyam: Everyone must work together to overcome the economic crisis

President of Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) and the Parliament representative of Dh. Meedhoo constituency MP Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has urged everyone to work together to overcome the economic crisis.

Via a tweet on Wednesday, MP Siyam said that everyone should work together to combat the obstructions arising out of the economic crisis.

The Russia-Ukraine war which has deeply impacted the world economy commenced before many countries could overcome the obstructions they faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As citizen battle increased prices of goods and services – the Parliament, on Wednesday, has passed a bill proposed by the government designed to raise the GST from 6 percent to 8 percent, and the TGST from 12 percent to 16 percent.
