The Civil Court has ordered the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) to pay MVR 1.7 million to ADK Hospital.

The court issued the order on Wednesday, in response to a lawsuit filed by ADK over 15 unpaid invoices – totaling MVR 1,703,084.75.

During court proceedings, FAM admitted they needed to pay the invoiced amounts. FAM said it would be hard for them to pay a lump sum amount, and asked for one year to pay the full amount.

However, ADK refused, and asked for the amount to be paid within one month.

The court ruled in favor of ADK.

FAM has been embroiled in allegations of failure to pay coaches and athletes. STELCO recently cut off electricity to the FAM House over MVR 6.5 million in outstanding bills.
