Dhiraagu has signed on as the digital partner for Vaavoshi Turtle Festival 2022; the first multi-atoll festival to be held in the Maldives.
The festival, organised by the Olive Ridley Project, commenced today across nine islands.
The festival is being held with the participation of school students from nine islands; N. Lhohi, R. Fainu, B. Goidhoo, Lh. Hinnavaru, K. Huraa, K. Maafushi, V. Keyodhoo, and S. Feydhoo.
Vaavoshi Turtle Festival celebrates the sea turtle population in the Maldives, and raisees awareness about the threats that sea turtles and other marine life face in the Maldives.
Beach clean-ups, ‘Conservation Conversations’ awareness sessions by various environmental organisations, and a Vaavoshi Festival Rally where students will pledge to protect sea turtles are all planned festival activities.
The organisers held a nationwide poster design competition for all students earlier this month.
Dhiraagu has stated that they are committed to supporting initiatives that focus on the conservation of the environment, which is a key focus of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
