President spectates games in Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour 2022

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih travelled to Sun Island Resort & Spa on Sunday to spectate some of the matches in the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Maldives Challenge 2022.

The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Maldives Challenge 2022 is the highest-ranked sporting event hosted in Maldives, featuring world-class players from 28 countries.

President Solih attended some of the matches on Sunday, including the final.

Promoting Maldives as a destination for international sporting events is one of President Solih’s electoral pledges.

According to the President’s Office, the main goal of the pledge is to give Maldivian national sports teams the opportunity to compete against international athletes while also promoting the Maldives as a sports tourism destination.

It is the sixth international competition being held in Maldives this year.

The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour 2022 is jointly organized by Maldivian Sports Ministry, the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, and the Volleyball Association of Maldives.

It was be held from October 13-16.
