Planning Ministry has contracted a Sri Lankan company to develop 200 housing units in GDh. Thinadhoo, on a design and build basis.
The Ministry had contracted the project to Sri Lankan company Sierra Star Joint Venture. The agreement pertaining to the project was executed during a special ceremony held at Planning Ministry. Director General of Housing Department Ahmed Vishan Naseem signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry, whilst M.H.P Parsad Arathna signed on behalf of the company.
Seirra was awarded the project for MVR 254 million, to be completed within 540 days. The project will be funded from the government’s budget for Public Sector Invest Projects (PSIPs).
Housing units built under the project will have 700 square feet and will comprise of three rooms, three toilets, a sitting room, a dining area, a kitchen, a laundry room and store room.
A park and a parking area will also be established at a premise. The premise will also be well lit for enhanced living experience for tenants.
