President to depart to Bahrain tomorrow, on invitation of King

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is scheduled to visit Bahrain on official capacity at the invitation of the country’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.

Via tweet on Tuesday, the President’s Office’s Spokesperson Miuvaan Mohamed said that President Solih will be departing for Bahrain tomorrow. He is scheduled to return to the Maldives on Saturday.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed undertook an official visit to the United Kingdom (UK) in September to attend the late Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral. Having departed for the UK on September 16, the concluded the visit and returned to Maldives on September 22.

During the trip, the first couple paid last respects to the late Queen Elizabeth II, and met with her successor King Charles III.

On last Monday, President Solih undertook a three-day visit to the two islands of Haa Alifu Atoll and two islands of Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

During the trip, President attended the official ceremonies at HA. Utheemu to mark the National Day. He also inaugurated finished projects at the four islands, met with respective the island councils and Women’s Development Committees. He also inspected ongoing projects at those islands.
