Maldives’ underwater beauty showcased at Asia’s biggest dive fair

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) alongside industry partners are showcasing the beauty of Maldivian seascapes, underwater sceneries at Asia’s largest dive fair, ADEX 2022.

The event is taking place today and tomorrow at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore.

With a history spanning 26 – ADEX is the biggest and longest-running dive expo in Asia, considered to be one of the industry’s ‘must-attend’ events. In this regard, ADEX brings together distinguished VIPs and speakers from different nations including scientists, marine conservationists, underwater photographers and videographers amongst others. Apart from this, the event also provides a platform for various exhibitors such as dive operators, equipment manufacturers, and national tourism boards.

MMPRC detailed that participation at ADEX will boost Maldives’ visibility and the maintain its presence as a premier and preferred dive destination in the Southeast Asian market. They added that the event will allow them to promote the dive segment of Maldives to a broader audience, consisting of both dive operators and dive enthusiasts.

On this note, the Corporation will market the destination, products (resorts, hotels, guesthouses and liveaboards), unique experiences, specifically those relating to diving and water sports alongside the underwater beauty of the Maldives to travel trade and travelers from the Southeast Asian market.

Participation in the event, as per MMPRC, aligns with their strategy to diversify the promotional efforts to include all segments. The Corporation is accompanied by 11 participants from six companies to promote their dive-related products and services.

Maldives recorded a total of 18,489 tourists from the Southeast Asian Market as of July. MMPRC said they have several activities in the pipeline targeted for the market including joint-marketing campaigns with major stakeholders, outdoor advertising campaigns, participation in fairs, hosting webinars, e-learning programs and other events.

To date this year, MMPRC has carried out 260 different marketing activities in 22 global markets last year, including fairs, roadshows, familiarization trips, marketing campaigns, webinars, and interviews.
