The Indian High Commission in Maldives has been relocated from Male’ City to suburban Hulhumale’.
The Indian High Commission is now located at Lot no. 11499, Hithigasmagu 4, Hulhumale’ Phase I.
Until today, the High Commission was located at H. Athireege Aage in Ameer Ahmed Magu, Male’.
The Indian High Commission had previously complained that the shortage of space at its previous location was leaving it unable to properly provide services.
The Maldivian government had announced plans to relocate all foreign embassies in Maldives to Hulhumale’ Phase II. The Indian High Commission was allocated land from Phase II, and the groundbreaking ceremony for the new building was held on September 4, 2019.
However, construction has yet to start.
