MTCC: Asphalt laying complete for Hanimaadhoo roads

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed on Wednesday that the asphalt laying for Hdh. Hanimaadhoo Road Development Project has been completed.

The company detailed that work on laying asphalt for an area of 46,466 sqm was completed as part of this project.

This includes the construction and development of 18 roads on the island.

Additionally, sidewalks of 16,518sqm were constructed and a 38,916sq carriageway was developed, along with road markings of 19,679.7sqm.

As per MTCC, the project is well underway, and currently, about 67 percent of the project progressed.  

This project was initially started in September 2013. However, due to various reasons, it stopped. It was granted to MTCC on May 22, 2019, and the physical work commenced on June 15 of the same year.

This project is valued at MVR 76.09 million according to MTCC.
