Iskandhar School has issued a statement on Thursday assuring parents of the safety of students during school activities held both in and out of school.

The statement comes after one of the school’s teachers, a 52-year-old Indian man, was arrested on July 11 for the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old male student.

In the statement, the school expressed concern over the case, and provided assurance student safety would be ensured in activities held both in and out of school.

The school also appealed to all parties to ensure the safety of students in all communications and activities by students outside the school.

The teacher arrested in the case has been remanded in jail pending the outcome of trial.
