MET: Weather will begin to improve tomorrow

Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) states the weather is expected to be generally fine across Maldives starting Monday, offering a reprieve from the heavy rain affecting the country.

There is a white alert in effect from 01:30 pm to 05:30 pm Sunday, for the area from HA. Atoll to Dh. Atoll.

MET forecasts the area will be affected by heavy rain and thunderstorms, and strong winds of 19-24 miles per hour, with gusts of 45 miles per hour.

Seas are expected to be rough.

An official from MET told Sun on Sunday that the weather was expected to begin improving on Monday.

“Though there’s a white alert in place until this evening, the weather will be generally fine in all areas starting tomorrow,” said the official.
