Maldives Development Alliance (MDA)’s leader, Meedhoo MP Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has called for the inclusion of all members of the society in Eid al-Adha celebrations.
In a statement on Friday, Siyam extended greetings on occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Adha to members of the MDA, as well as the Maldivian people and the entire Muslim Ummah.
He prayed to Almighty Allah for all pilgrims to have an accepted hajj.
Siyam said that given Eid al-Adha comes in conjunction with hajj, it was important that Muslims gained wisdom from the noble act of worship.
He said that Islam promoted unity and fairness, and that it was important Muslims adopted the same principles in their daily lives.
“I appeal to everyone not to step outside the bounds of Islamic principles and community disciplinary standards in celebrating Eid. And I call for the inclusion of all members of the society in Eid celebrations,” he said.
Siyam said Eid offered a chance to show kindness, and urged people to make good use of the opportunity.
