Parliament, on Monday, has passed the bill proposing amendments to Judicature Act – to dissolve the branches of the High Court established in the northern and southern regions of Maldives.
The bill submitted by Mathiveri MP Hassan Zareer, on behalf of the government, received the votes of 34 parliamentarians out of 73 that were in attendance.
Amendments included in the bill which were passed by Parliament:
High Court’s southern branch is established at Addu City’s Meedhoo whilst the northern branch is established at HDh. Kulhudhuffushi.
