Applications open for Journalism Awards

Maldives Media Council (MMC) has opened applications for Journalism Awards.

The award ceremony is scheduled to be held on October 11.

MMC said there were separate application forms for journalism awards, most promising journalist award, and best journalist award.

MMC released the criteria for the points system in an announcement on Thursday.

The deadline for applications is 12:00 pm on August 11.

Awards will be conferred in 12 categories. They are:

• Investigative journalism
• Sustainable development and social
• Political
• Court and legal
• Business and economy
• Sports
• Photo journalism
• Video journalism
• Graphics and Illustrations
• Features
• Most promising journalist
• Best journalist

News graphics and illustrations and video journalism were new categories introduced last year.
