Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Thursday commenced the physical work on the Th. Hirilandhoo land reclamation and shore protection project.
A special ceremony was held, where MTCC’s CEO Adam Azim and MP for Kinbidhoo constituency inaugurated the project.

MTCC was awarded this project in November 2020.
This project involves reclamation, installation of a revetment, and shore protection.
MTCC revealed that the project which will reclaim 20 hectares of land costs MVR 105.2 million. Moreover, the project was awarded to be completed within 285 days.
Hirilandhoo has a land area of 29 hectares and has over 1,200 residents.
The government has included 14 different projects for Hirilandhoo in this year's budget.
