President: Greatest joy as Ramadan arrives is return to normalcy by overcoming the pandemic

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that the greatest joy as this year’s Ramadan arrives is that we have overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and can now devote our full attention to religious matters.

He had remarked this while addressing the nation on the occasion of the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

During his address, President Solih said that stressed that protective measures that were taken to control the spread of the virus being lifted allowing life to return to normalcy has also paved way for people to be able to perform congregation prayers in mosques once again.

Thus, he urged people to be more motivated in taking advantage of this opportunity to fast, pray the Thara'weeh, and recite the Holy Quran.

Stressing that the holy month of Ramadan was filled with blessings and forgiveness – he advised people to be more kind and prioritize familial ties, friendliness and good manners, as well as helping each other and bring forth humanity, which would elevate one's rank in the hereafter.

President Solih concluded his address by expressing hope that the whole Islamic Ummah would receive the benevolence of the holy month.
