A Maldivian man who travelled to the southwestern Indian city of Kochi has sustained serious injuries in a road accident.
The victim of the accident is Adam Shaheem, a man from AA. Bodufulhadhoo.
A family member who spoke to Sun on Wednesday afternoon said the accident took place two days back.
“He was hit by a motorcycle two nights back as he walked back home with the rest of the group after going out for dinner,” said the family member.
Shaheem sustained multiple facial injuries in the accident, including a fractured eye socket.
“He is having trouble with his sight and eating due to his facial injuries. He cannot eat any solid food, he is just taking fluids,” said the family member.
The family said Shaheem was initially treated at the ICU, but was moved to the ward on Tuesday night.
He is showing signs of improvement, said the family.
He is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair the damage to his eye socket on Friday.
