HDC: Water outages in Hiyaa flats will be resolved as soon as possible

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) states that the company is working on resolving water outages affecting some of the towers in the Hiyaa Housing Project in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

Water outages have reportedly hit some of the units in the towers H9, H10, H13 and H15 both on Tuesday night, and again on Wednesday morning.

A tenant from H9 told Sun on Wednesday morning that the first water outage hit just before midnight. She said that that water services weren’t restored until after 06:00 am on Wednesday.

The water went out again at approximately 08:30 am, and came back close to 11:00 am, she said.

“We cannot shower. We cannot use the toilet. We even use filtered tap water to drink,” said the tenant.

A tenant from H15 told Sun that water had been out from his unit since Tuesday night.

HDC said the cause of the water outages had been identified as a faulty pump, and that the corporation was working on resolving the issue as soon as possible.
