A new Deputy Minister has been appointed to Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture.
The individual appointed to the post by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih today is Ahmed Fathih.
As per the President’s Office, Fathih holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry from the University of Technology Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Prior to his appointment as the Deputy Minister, he was serving as an Immigration Officer at Maldives Immigration.
With the appointment of Fathih, there are presently three Deputy Ministers at the Fisheries Ministry. They are Fathih, Ali Majidh and Hassan Nashid.
The salary of a Deputy Minister is MVR 35,500. That is MVR 20,500 as basic salary, and MVR 15,000 in allowances.
