Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has released the final list of people who won bids for the 60 plots of land opened for sale from Hulhumale’ Phase II, along with the plot they selected.

HDC sold 60 plots of land from Hulhumale’ Phase II; 26 beachfront plots and 34 beachside plots.

The plot selection for beachfront land was held on Monday, and the plot selection for the beachside land was held on Wednesday.

HDC has released list of people who bought the plots on their website.

The opportunity to select plots will be granted in order, starting from the highest bid.

The 26 beachfront plots received 211 bids. The lowest bid which won was MVR 6,759 per square feet, while the highest bid which won was MVR 10,220 per square feet.

One of the selected bidders, Ibrahim Majid, had accidently bid MVR 10 million per square feet. HDC confirmed it was accidental, and cancelled his original bid and allowed him to re-submit his bid.

He won the bid again, for his new bid of MVR 2,060.10 per square feet.

The lowest bid which won was MVR 6,759 per square feet, while the highest bid which won was MVR 10,220 per square feet.

The plot which Majid originally selected went to Hawwa Abdul Kareem, who had been on the top of the waiting list.

Meanwhile, the 34 beachside plots had attracted 179 bids. The lowest bid which won was MVR 3,500 per square feet, while the highest bid which won was MVR 9,700 per square feet.

HDC issued the invitation to bid for the 60 plots on December 27 last year.

HDC said it put the plots up for sale to grant housing opportunity for people of different categories under modern housing projects.

The corporation said that funds raised from the sale of the plots will be used to lower the price of social housing category plots.

HDC also said that first-time land owners, along with residents of the greater Male’ region registered to lands measuring less than 600 square feet would be prioritized in the sale of the plots.
