Electoral officials have begun closing ballot boxes. The ballot box for Maroshi and Foakaishoo residents at Iskandhar School has been closed. 497 voters cast their ballots into the box.
The queue line at the polling station was closed at 04:00 pm.
One person has been taken into police custody outside the polling center in Male’. The person was taken into custody near Euro Store on Chandhanee Magu, following a dispute, as police pushed back the crowd outside the center.
A long queue has formed at the polling station in Male’ as it draws nearer to poll closing time.
2,570 voters have cast their ballots in the Komandoo by-election. 3,309 have the right to vote in the district. 22.33 percent have yet to vote.
Complaints Committee confirms seven complaints have been lodged with them alleging influence over the Komandoo by-election. This includes a complaint MDP was bribing voters with cash.
Complaints Committee’s head Ibrahim Hafiz said the complaints were under investigation.
MNP’s deputy leader MP Ahmed Usham states the party has lodged a complaint with the Elections Commission over MDP’s candidate Mohamed Rashid’s presence at the polling center.

PPM has announced that since MDP was operating a center on the first floor of Ma. Semi Deal – located in front of Iskandhar School, PPM had opened a center on the second floor of the same building.

304 voters have cast their ballots into the box for Foakaidhoo and Maroshi residents in Male’, while 370 have cast their ballots into the box for Komandoo residents.
PPM has announced the decision to lodge a case with Elections Commission alleging MDP was running a campaign center near the polling center in Male’ City.
277 voters have cast their ballots into the Ballot Box 1, and 241 have cast their ballots into the Ballot Box 2 in Komandoo.
365 voters are registered to Ballot Box 1, and 347 to Ballot Box 2.
The voter turnout is low so far. However, more voters are expected to turn up close to poll closing time.
1,857 voters have cast their ballots so far; 941 female voters and 916 male voters.

The dispute outside Iskandhar School has escalated, prompting the deployment of Special Operations (SO) officers to the area.
PPM has lodged a case with Elections Commission, accusing MDP’s candidate Rashid of campaigning outside the Foakaidhoo polling station and attempting to influence the election.
132 voters have cast their ballots into the box in Maroshi.
134 voters have cast their ballots into the box for Maroshi and Foakaidhoo residents in Male’, while 153 have cast their ballots into the box for Komandoo in Male’. The queues have begun to thin out.
A confrontation is taking place between MDP and PPM supporters outside Iskandhar School, following allegations MDP is bribing voters with cash in a nearby garage.
More police officers have been deployed to the area to maintain security.
All three candidates competing in the election have cast their ballot.

An one-hour slot – from 03:00 pm to 04:00 pm – has been designated for voters positive for COVID-19 or in quarantine.
Elections Commission’s chairman Fuad Thaufeeq has stated that as many people as possible will be allowed to witness the counting of the ballots, depending on capacity at polling centers.
Voting is going ahead without incident.
