Health Minister: Primary healthcare to be inaugurated in the Maldives in March

Health Minister Ahmed Naseem has stated that primary healthcare will be inaugurated in the Maldives next March.

Speaking at an MDP campaign rally held at Sh. Maroshi today, Minister Naseem said that the biggest expenditure of every country is on primary healthcare. He also added that primary healthcare decreases the chances of disease outbreaks.

“It decreases the chances of disease outbreaks. The diseases of the individuals will be identified much earlier. We will know if a person has a cancer, and what steps to take next regarding that person,” he had said.

Minister Naseem also pointed out that primary healthcare was implemented in the Maldives very well previously.

“Primary healthcare had been implemented in the Maldives very well before. We deviated from this practice in the year 2004,” he had said.

Minister Naseem said that a healthy nation can only be guaranteed with the establishment of primary healthcare in the country.
