The camp was inaugurated by Maldivian Health Minister Ahmed Naseem and Indian High Commissioner Munu Mahawar on Saturday morning.

The camp was held from 09:30 am to 02:00 pm at the Maldives Blood Services.

Speaking at the inauguration of the camp, Naseem expressed his support for such initiatives.

Those who donated blood at the camp include ICC’s Director Dr. Syed Tanveer Nasreen and Health Ministry’s Senior Executive Director Aminath Shathfa Shafeen.

Dr. Nasreen said some 30 people donated blood at the camp.

She said that many more had wished to donate blood at the camp, but had been unable to do so due to COVID-19 restrictions.

"There were many more who had to go back because of direct contact with a Covid patient last three months and traveling out of Male in the last three months," she said.

ICC described the camp as a success, despite the obstacles.
