COVID-19: Over 800 cases in 24 hours; 413 cases from Male' area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, confirmed additional 816 cases of COVID-19 cases, bringing the total cases in Maldives to 100,451.      

According to HPA, the new cases include; 413 cases from the greater Male’ region, 249 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 92 cases from operational resorts and 15 cases from liveaboards.

Meanwhile, 354 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 95,056.    

With these new developments, Maldives now has 5,118 active cases.

There are 25 patients in hospitals

7,005 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 3, 486 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 12 percent.

Maldives has recorded 264 COVID-19 deaths.
