Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, confirmed additional 454 cases of COVID-19 cases, bringing the total cases in Maldives to 98,506.
According to HPA, the new cases include; 192 cases from the greater Male’ region, 165 cases from residential islands outside Male’ and 74 cases from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 140 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 94,404.
With these new developments, Maldives now has 4,197 active cases.
There are 21 patients in hospitals
4,197 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,984 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 10 percent.

Maldives has recorded 264 COVID-19 deaths.
Maldives began its vaccination campaign in February. The country expanded the campaign to begin vaccinating children between 12 years and 17 years of age in August, and began administering booster doses in October.
As of present, 396,981 people have received their first dose and 368,238 people have been fully vaccinated, and 27,762 have received their booster dose.
