COVID-19: Over 300 positive cases in 24 hours

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, confirmed additional 304 cases of COVID-19 cases, bringing the total cases in Maldives to 97,050.      

This marks the highest number of cases recorded within 24hours for this year. 

According to HPA, the new cases include; 136 cases from the greater Male’ region, 78 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 83 cases from operational resorts. 

With this, Maldives now has 2,908 active cases, of which 13 are hospitalized. 

Meanwhile, 129 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 93,865.    

4,395 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,814 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 7 percent.

January 2: 161 cases 

January 1: 191 cases

December 30: 120 cases 

Maldives has recorded 264 COVID-19 deaths.
