Man being treated in ICU after being stabbed in the stomach by wife

A man has been stabbed in the stomach by a woman in Male’ City – subsequent to which he is currently being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital’s (IGMH) Intensive Care Unit.

A media official from IGMH told Sun that the patient being treated at the hospital’s ICU is a 34-year-old Maldivian man.

Sun has been informed that he was taken to the hospital on last Monday.

Maldives Police Service said that a case of a woman stabbing a man with a sharp object was reported to them last Monday night. They added that they were investigating the case further.

Sun can confirm that the incident took place between a married couple.
