COVID-19: 152 new cases, 112 from atolls

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 152 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 91,274.      

According to HPA, the 152 new cases include; 22 cases from the greater Male’ region, 112 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 17 cases from operational resorts and one case from a liveaboard.

Meanwhile, 161 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 89,190.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,823 active cases.      

There are 14 patients in hospitals.      

4,126 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,051 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 2 percent.

Maldives has recorded 248 COVID-19 deaths.
