Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 96 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 90,821.
According to HPA, the 96 new cases include; 18 cases from the greater Male’ region, 72 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 6 cases from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 142 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 88,576.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,984 active cases.
There are 16 patients in hospitals.
4,083 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,118 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 2 percent.
With the 96 new infections on Monday, 822 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

Maldives has recorded 248 COVID-19 deaths.
Maldives began its vaccination campaign in February. The country expanded the campaign to begin vaccinating children between 12 years and 17 years of age in August.
As of Sunday, 395,373 people have received their first dose and 362,326 people have been fully vaccinated, and 6,722 have received their booster dose.
