Maldives’ COVID-19 death toll rises to 248

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Wednesday that a COVID-19 patient admitted to the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility has passed away.   

HPA identified the deceased as a 75-year-old Maldivian female.   

She passed away at 02:01 am on Wednesday.   

“This is the 248th COVID-19 death in the Maldives,” confirmed HPA in a tweet.  

This marks the fifth COVID-19 death in November.  

Maldives has 90,117 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 118 new cases recorded on Tuesday. 87,703 patients have since recovered.     

The country currently has 2,154 active cases. 10 of the patients are hospitalized.
