Maldives Airports Company Limited’s (MACL) Deputy Chief Officer Ibrahim Thoha has been designated to temporarily oversee the operations of the company.
MACL’s General Manger, Corporate Communications Hassan Areef confirmed the designation to Sun.
Thoha has been designated to temporarily oversee the operations of MACL following the dismissal of the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Gordon Andrew Stewart last Wednesday.
MACL said Stewart was dismissed at the instructions of the Privatization and Corporatization Board.
Stewart, who has over 30 years of experience in aviation management, was appointed CEO and MD of MACL on June 28, 2020.
Following his dismissal, MACL issued a short statement thanking Stewart for his service to the company.
