COVID-19: 184 new cases; 2,228 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 184 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 89,713.      

According to HPA, the 184 new cases include; 11 cases from the greater Male’ region, 141 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 27 cases from operational resorts, and 5 cases from liveaboards. 

Meanwhile, 126 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 87,225.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,228 active cases.      

There are 13 patients in hospitals.      

4,533 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,127 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 1 percent. 

With the 184 new infections on Saturday, 1,078 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.  

November 13: 184 cases 

November 12: 165 cases 

November 11: 109 cases 

November 10: 129 cases 

November 9: 160 cases 

November 8: 149 cases 

November 7:  182 cases 

Maldives has recorded 247 COVID-19 deaths.
