Mujthaba appointed Secretary-General of Male’ City Council

Former CEO of National Social Protection Agency (NSPA), Mujthaba Jaleel has been appointed as the Secretary-General of Male’ City Council. 

The openings for Secretary-General position in local councils had attracted 511 applicants - 23 of them for Male’ City Council. 

Male’ City Council confirms that Mujthaba, who was selected from among the applicants, started reporting to work on Tuesday. 

Mujthaba had served as CEO of NSPA during PPM’s administration. He was later appointed Deputy Economic Minister, but was dismissed after approximately two months. 

Mujthaba’s new appoint comes with Male’ City Council dominated by PPM, after a sweeping victory in the local council elections this year. 

He will earn MVR 35,500 per month as Secretary-General of Male’ City Council; MVR 20,500 as salary and MVR 15,000 as executive allowance.
