COVID-19: 130 new cases, 103 from atolls

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 130 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 88,516.

According to HPA, the 130 new cases include; 19 cases from the greater Male’ region, 103 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and eight cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 122 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 86,290.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,968 active cases.      

There are 25 patients in hospitals.      

2,801 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 722 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at two percent.

Maldives has recorded 245 COVID-19 deaths.
