Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Sunday, announced 92 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 86,922.
According to HPA, the 92 new cases include; 26 cases from the greater Male’ region, 60 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 6 cases from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 88 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 85,145.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,524 active cases.
There are 18 patients in hospitals.
3,710 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,291 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 2 percent.
With the 92 new infections this Sunday, 757 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

Maldives has recorded 240 COVID-19 deaths.
Maldives began its vaccination campaign in February. The country expanded the campaign to begin vaccinating children between 12 years and 17 years of age in August.
As of Saturday, 394,049 people have received their first dose and 354,364 people have been fully vaccinated.
