HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Court’s magistrate Ibrahim Shahid has been placed under two-week suspension for failure to hear any of the criminal cases assigned to him.
Judicial Service Commission announced on Tuesday that it made the decision based on the findings of their investigation into the allegation against him, along with his own confession.
JSC found Shahid’s actions violate Article 34 (b) of Judges Act and Article 6.1, 6.2 and 6.4 of Code of Conduct for Judges.
The commission made its decision regarding the case on Sunday.
JSC decided to place Shahid under suspension without pay for 14 days under Article 1-32 (a) (3) of Judicial Service Commission Act.
