Car accident at Velana International Airport injures three

A car accident that occurred at Velana International Airport has left three injured.

A media official from Maldives Police Service said that the accident occurred when a car being driven at the airport had lost control – and broke through a fence into the walkway. They were reported the accident at around 15:28 this evening.

The media official also confirmed that three individuals had sustained several injuries. Noting that the three injured were men – the media official said that they were being treated at the Airport’s Medical Point. However, the media official said that they were unable to give any details regarding the injured at the moment.

Maldives Police Service is investigating the matter further.
