COVID-19: 108 new cases, 72 from atolls

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 108 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 78,464.      

According to HPA, the 108 new cases include; 21 cases from the greater Male’ region, 72 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 15 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 115 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 75,660.      

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,570 active cases.      

There are 19 patients in hospitals.      

7,203 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,975 from the greater Male' region.

August 3: 125 cases 

Maldives has recorded 222 COVID-19 deaths.
