COVID-19: 113 new cases, 71 from atolls

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Sunday, announced 113 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 78,356.      

According to HPA, the 113 new cases include; 19 cases from the greater Male’ region, 71 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 23 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 95 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 75,545.      

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,577 active cases.      

There are 22 patients in hospitals.      

5,664 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,020 from the greater Male' region.

August 5: 104 cases  

August 4: 137 cases  

August 3: 125 cases 

August 2: 86 cases    

Maldives has recorded 222 COVID-19 deaths.
