Travel restrictions have been eased to allow travel to some islands without the requirement of a negative PCR test.
In a press conference held yesterday by the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC), Spokesperson of HEOC Dr. Nazla Rafeeg stated that this rule will be in effect starting from September 1.
Accordingly, those who are traveling to islands that have a positivity rate of below 5 percent – a PCR test would not be required subject to that 90 percent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
In islands with operational guesthouses – 95 percent of guesthouse workers must be fully vaccinated. Additionally, 90 percent of those who are above the age of 60 – and 90 percent of those who are above the age of 12, must be fully vaccinated at guesthouse operational islands.
