COVID-19: 86 new cases, 31 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 86 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 77,633.   

According to HPA, the 86 new cases include; 31 cases from the greater Male’ region, 37 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 18 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 170 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 74,928.   

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,472 active cases.   

There are 19 patients in hospitals.   

5,653 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,228 from the greater Male' region. 

With the 86 new infections this Monday, 785 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.   

August 2: 86 cases 

August 1: 115 cases  

June 31: 123 cases   

June 30: 107 cases   

July 29: 108 cases   

July 28: 141 cases   

July 27: 105 cases   

Maldives has recorded 221 COVID-19 deaths.
