COVID-19: 139 new cases, 26 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Wednesday, announced 139 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 74,724.

According to HPA, the 139 new cases include; 26 cases from the greater Male’ region, 81 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 8 cases from operational resorts, 2 cases from liveaboards, and 22 cases from industrial islands.

Meanwhile, 355 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 71,567.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,932 active cases.

There are 22 patients in hospitals.

4,745 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 139 new infections this Wednesday, 926 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

Maldives has recorded 213 COVID-19 deaths.
