COVID-19: Maldives records 768 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, announced 768 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 65,164.

According to HPA, the 768 new cases include; 373 cases from the greater Male’ region, 357 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 15 cases from operational resorts, 8 cases from liveaboards, and 15 cases from islands under development.

Meanwhile, 834 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 40,951.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 24,035 active cases.

There are 208 patients in hospitals.

5,685 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 768 new infections this Tuesday, 6,819 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

June 1: 768 cases

May 31: 710 cases

May 30: 780 cases

May 29: 1,062 cases

May 28: 901 cases

May 27: 1,299 cases

May 26: 1,299 cases

169 COVID-19 patients have died from complications, including 8 fatalities this Tuesday.
