A project by the Bank of Maldives to conveniently manage and separate different types of waste within the waste management system in R. Kinolhas has been concluded successfully.
The project was run under the BML Community Fund. The proposal was pitched by a resident of the island named Wafir Ahmed. Previously, the Council of Kinolhas was managing the everyday waste on the island.
However, the work to effectively manage waste and separate different types of waste in public spaces of the island was faced with a lot of challenges. Under the assistance provided by BML, five dustbins specifically dedicated for the purpose were established in different areas of the island.
Wafir Ahmed thanked everyone for the support received for the project. He said that a lot of conveniences was achieved as a result of the project.
Projects submitted for the Aharenge Bank community fund can be ranged from sports activities to environmental protection projects. BML has opened for application for the community fund up until March 7.
