Maldives receives 30,000 plus tourists in first 10 days of 2021

The Maldives has received 30,644 tourists in the first ten days of 2020. 

Statistics by the Tourism Ministry show that on the first day of the news year, the Maldives received 2,005 tourists, while 4,160 tourists were recorded on the second day.

On January 3 a total of 4,195 tourists were received while 2,646 tourists were received on the following day. Ministry statistics show that the nation received an average of 3,064 tourists per day in 2021 so far. Tourists also spent around 9.8 days in the Maldives as per the statistics. 

The top source tourist markets to the Maldives are:

  • Russia: 8,761 tourists
  • India: 3,908 tourists
  • Ukraine: 2,680 tourists
  • Kazakhstan: 1,590 tourists
  • Romania: 1,447 tourists

Currently, the Maldives has 569 tourist facilities with a total bed capacity of 42,072 beds.
