2nd death recorded from Thinadhoo fire incident

A second individual has passed away due to injuries sustained in a fire incident in G. Dh. Thinadhoo last month. 

The incident happened around midnight of November 22 on a boat named “Raasthaa” which was docked at Thinadhoo. A gas cylinder on the boat leaked causing the fire incident which left four injured. 

The deceased today had been relocated to Male’ City for further medical care. 

Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo confirmed the death recorded early in the morning.

Previously, a 40-year old local male had passed away due to the incident. The individual was taken to Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo before being moved to IGMH in Male’ City due to the serious nature of his injuries. Both individuals were from Thinadhoo. 

Abdul Smad Hospital has previously said that the 40-year old individual had received burns to 60 percent of his body while the deceased today had received burns to 45 percent of his body.
