MNDF rescue 2 reported missing at sea

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has located and rescued two individuals that set out on wind surfboard from L. Maamendhoo to L. Hithadhoo. 

The incident was reported around 11:30, and MNDF central area coastguard dispatched a vessel to locate the individuals. They were later located and rescued by the vessel. 

MNDF said that the incident would be looked into by police. 

Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) had even issued a weather alert for the regions between L. Atoll and Addu City in the south due to the bad weather. Windspeeds have been calculated at 45 miles per hour during gusts and seas were expected to be rough.
