Naifaru affected by flooding after heavy rainfall

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) is lending its assistance after Lh. Naifaru suffered flooding on Saturday, as bad weather affects islands across northern Maldives.

Naifaru has been affected by heavy rainfall since Friday night, flooding some of the areas of the island.

 MNDF said that the flooding was reported to the agency at approximately 01:55 pm on Saturday, and that the MNDF Northern Area officers are working on draining the floodwater.

Maldives Meteorological Service has extended the white alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms issued for islands from H. A. Atoll to Lh. Atoll to 09:00 pm this Saturday.
